Social apps here range from official clients to small community projects. The Bluesky Social app is the best known: it is the official client, written in React Native, and its repository is one of the most starred in the whole list. Mlem is a SwiftUI client for Lemmy, Critical Maps helps organise the monthly Critical Mass bike rides, and SpotifyRadar tracks new releases from artists you follow.
Mastodon clients have their own subcategory, led by Ice Cubes. Many older entries were built around Twitter, app.net or Instagram APIs that have since closed or changed, and the list marks most of them as unmaintained. They can still be useful as code to read, but expect them not to build or log in today. If you want to run one, check the App Store badge first. For learning, the Bluesky app is a large production codebase, while Mlem and Critical Maps are smaller native Swift projects that are easier to follow.
