Clones

22 apps

Clones recreate the look or core behavior of a well-known app. They are made for learning, not to replace the original, so most never shipped to the App Store. FlappySwift and the Swift version of 2048 are the most starred. Finance rebuilds Apple's Stocks app in React Native, MakeItSo is a SwiftUI clone of Reminders, and Swiftenstein and SwiftUICraft rebuild Wolfenstein 3D and Minecraft.

Clones are useful when you want to see how a familiar interface is put together: tab bars, feeds, players and gestures that you already know from the real app. Most use MIT or another permissive license. A few, like Swiftagram, rely on unofficial private APIs, so treat those as code to read rather than something to run.

Built on the open dkhamsing/open-source-ios-apps list by its contributors, licensed CC0 1.0. Open-Source iOS Apps is an independent project, not affiliated with the list's maintainers.
